Guidelines for Human Development Theorist and Perspective Paper
 
Students are to select one of the major human development theorists covered in the course and write an APA formatted paper (title page, three to five full pages of narrative text, references page) that discusses the following:
 
· The theorist himself or herself and what led the theorist to the development of his/her theory
 
· The theory and its major tenets in regard to human development (e.g., characteristics, stages, strengths, shortcomings, contribution(s) to human development research, literature, and/or studies, et cetera
 
· Relevance of the theory to the school age population you plan to assist as a professional school counselor
 
· Application of the theory to students of the school age population you plan to assist as a professional school counselor
 
· Any other observations, reactions, thoughts, or concerns you may have about the theorist and or theory in regard and relation to professional school counseling.
