You will be supporting USINDOPACOM by doing an assessment of the baseline capabilities of the Philippine Defense Forces to provide Role 2 care and facilities for their forces at home and abroad in support of Peacekeeping Operations (PKO).
Unfortunately, prior after-action reports and INDOPACOM/Component plans do not provide significant information to provide a draft baseline. The recommendation from the Command Surgeon’s office is that you come up with a plan for how to solicit the information through a combination of requests for information (RFIs) that can be sent to the host nation in advance and a proposed plan for an in-country assessment to review those findings and have face-to-face discussions. You will be supporting USINDOPACOM by doing an assessment of the baseline capabilities of the Philippine Defense Forces to provide Role 2 care and facilities for their forces at home and abroad in support of Peacekeeping Operations (PKO).

• Who from the host nation do you feel needs to be present at the face-to-face discussions to ensure that the assessment is accurate?
• What US personnel need to be present?
• Where should the meetings take place?
• Are there any recommended site visits?
• Who do you need to/want to be connected with prior to the on-site meeting?
Prepare a short assessment briefing for the USINDOPACOM Command Surgeon, to include the information and recommendations that you have obtained by answering the questions listed above, and present it on Nov 26th in the FHP/DOTMLPF exercise session.
